Breast cancer survivor teams setting off

Singapore Ladies winning was very pleased my birth country won!!

Down at sunset beach with the sun in my palm

Curries and noodles

Dinky puddings

Our favourite non alcoholic drink - Iced Lemon tea, so refreshing at 36 - 40 degrees

 More sunset

The hotel at dusk on our wanderings along the sea front

Enticing in the hot weather, I have never done so much swimming

Nasi Goring

And our favourite bit of Tuesday watching the King of the Swingers in action at Sepilok

They were so graceful and so enchanting it was so lovely to see them where they should be

So playful and happy

Afternoon tea at the English Tea House in Sandekan, it was absolutely delish. we didn't eat for another 9 hours!!!

Agnes Keith's House

Beautiful setting and I now want to read her books

Our tour guide and our driver were wonderful, they took us on to the stilt village, which I believe is one of the more affluent ones as we passed some horrors on the way

It all looks very pretty until the water goes down and you see the effluent, rubbish and smell the pong!!

We then went on to Sandekan Market which was just as pongy

We couldn't believe they had fresh meet out which was not  chilled in 38 degree heat!!

Palm fruit or snake skin fruit, they were quite bitter

Unchilled chicken - Bob said the left overs -probably go to Kentucky!!

Unchilled fish - very pongy too!!

But you could get everything there and soooooo cheap

The next stop was the Chinese Temple

Fabulously decorated

And of course happy smiley budha

The last place he took us was a memorial park to the POWs who were forced by the Japanese to walk over 200 miles, starved to death and carrying heavy building equipment.  Out of 8000 Australian, British and native POWs only 6 survived and that was because they escaped .................... I will be reading up on this, but couldn't bring myself to read it there as it just brought me to tears, it was one of the most horrific things I have read about.

Makes you incredibly grateful for the freedom we have today - God rest their souls.
